World I Come From
At the age of seven my family decided to move from Mexico to the United States. I was very sad because I was leaving my family and friends behind. I have three sisters their names are Vanessa, Jasmin, Mireya. I only have one brother his name is Luis. I’m the second child of my family. When we arrived here, we stayed with my dad’s family. They helped us to find a house to live in. When I started school I was really nervous because I didn’t know how to speak English. I had in mind that everyone was going to make fun of me, but I was wrong. Every student in my class helped me how to learn English. My teacher told me something that I would never forget, she told me, “it’s time to break out of your shell and show the world who you really are and what you’re really made of.”
As I started school I started to set some goals for myself. The main goal I set for myself was not to give up on myself. I would always do my best to succeed in life. As I started to learn more english, I started to make new friends. I attended Washington School for four years. During those four years I improved my language skills. When it was time for us to move to Junior High, I started to get nervous again but not the same as before, because now I knew how to speak English. The classes that I got as a seventh grader started to get more hard. I did all my best to accomplish all the classes I needed to finish. Later on the Junior High was made to elementary school, I was sent to the Lincoln Elementary. In Lincoln I finish all my classes that were required in time.
In 2012, I started my freshmen year in Lindsay High School. As a freshmen I was excited because I was not in a elementary school no more. When we started High School I was confused because we had more classes than in the elementary. They told us the requirements we needed to accomplish as a freshmen. To graduate we had to pick a pathway, the pathway I choose was foods career. The first year of this pathway was creative living. Everything went very well in the class, but at the end it was a little more stressful because I had to finish so many assignments at the end of the year.
The time passed and it was time to enter my sophomore year. I was very glad of myself, because I passed all my classes of my freshman year. As the time passed I still had in mind the words that my teacher told me. My sophomore year went very well and finish all my classes in time. My family was very proud of myself, because I had achieve every obstacle that I had. When I enter junior year of high school, the classes started to get harder. I had the to keep on pace to be able to finish on time all my classes. The one class I had and didn’t finish was physiology. The class was the hardest class I had. At the end of my junior year I finish my food service pathway, I was happy because I didn’t had to worry anymore about my pathway.
In 2015, I started my senior year, I’m so excited for this year. I hope that I finish all my classes on time this year, I believe that with my family that support me on everything I would be able to finish my all my classes on time and graduate. My family encourage me to achieve all my goals I have set to myself. My goal for this year is to finish all my classes on time and to be able to graduate. Once I graduate I want to attend to college and start my career as a pastry assistant chief or a first grader teacher.
